Photography Love

Robert Doisneau, One of my all time favorite photographers. Born on April 12, 1912 a French photographer notorious for his work in the 1950's. One of his most famous photographs of all time is Le baiser de l'hôtel de ville (Kiss by the Town Hall) Below* Is one of my favorite photographs of all time.

I stumbled across this print hanging on a wall while I was out thrift shopping one day. The framed print was so high the store clerk literally had to climb the wall to get it down for me. At the time I had absolutely no clue who the people in the image were or who had captured such a stunning moment in time. This image to me was absolutely breathtaking. True love captured right there.....some old fool sitting in a cafe (and much like myself) thought to himself look at these kids stopping to appreciate each other with mayhem and chaos going on around them!

HA well that couldn't be further from the truth. Damn Robert Doisneau he planned the whole damn thing. Of course though I didn't find this out until years later when I was looking through TIME Magazine's 100 most popular photo's of all time. Any who I still appreciate the photograph to the fullest and it still holds the same amount of joy for me that it did on the first day I saw it

The identity of this couple was not revealed until 1992 when Doisneau was taken to court and forced to reveal who the lovers in the photograph were.  Jean and Denise Lavergne erroneously believed themselves to be the couple in "The Kiss". Doisneau is quoted as saying "I would never have dared to photograph people like that. Lovers kissing in the street, those couples are rarely legitimate.  Robert Doisneau, 1992.

Instead what really happened was Robert (because clearly I can be on a first name basis with him!) HA; had seen lovers kissing but would never photograph because of his natural reserve. He then asked them if they would repeat the kiss for le baiser, and I'm assuming they happily obliged. Drum roll please identities revealed.....Françoise Delbart and Jacques Carteaud. Francoise 20 at the time and Jacques 23 were both aspiring actors. Jacques said  Doisneau approached them in a very charming matter and asked them to kiss again, "Of course we didn't mind we were used to kissing. We were doing it all the time, it was delicious."

This photograph was published in LIFE magazine on June 12, 1950. Francoise and Jacques relationship only lasted for 9 months.

Quote from Doisneau himself- The marvels of daily life are so exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street. – Robert Doisneau

In 1948 Doisneau was contracted by Vogue to work as a fashion photographer. The editors believed he would bring a fresh and more casual look to the magazine but Doisneau didn’t enjoy photographing beautiful women in elegant surroundings; he preferred street photography. When he could escape from the studio, he photographed the streets of Paris.

And that ladies and Germs, is a take on one of my absolute favorite photographers of all time. A man so talented his images make me swoon with JOY! LOL! tata for now xoxo.

Not a Typical Tuesday

UGHHHH I'm so worn out today all I did was sleep all day there's a very good reason for that though. My daughter has "swimmers ear", any of you ever had that well let me tell you it is definitely not a piece of cake'. My daughter has barely slept or eaten for two days, seriously I was up all night with her I finally fell asleep around 6:30 this morning. I have never dealt with an ear infection this badly before and seeing as how my son is 11 and my daughter is almost 8 that says a lot. Yesterday we went to the pediatricians office and they prescribed us CIPRODEX OTIC SUSPENSION. Well let me tell you how much it didn't work to cure my baby's poor ear ache, so finally at 5:30 a.m. I looked up home remedies to soothe the ailing pain of swimmers ear, and across the board I read that if you mix 2 parts rubbing alcohol and one part white vinegar (It has to be white vinegar) it really seems to do the trick for easing pain in the ear. note* does not have to be Heinz I used an off brand.

2 parts

1 part

Well with that being said I hope your itty bitty ones never have to go through this. I also read that if you clean your or your children's ears every time your done swimming, showering etc. that this solution should ward off swimmers ear completely. I guess the rubbing alcohol dries out the water in the ear. *Please note* I am not a Doctor nor do I work as a medical professional, this method is something I found incredibly useful in my own personal situation via internet research for home remedies.*

Any who.......We are back at the doctors office first thing in the morning so that my daughter Payton can have her ear looked at again. Wish us luck!

                                      Tata for now xoxoxo.
